Firearms Safety Course

Clear Path for Veterans is proud to partner with the Firearms Sentinel Team to offer a comprehensive, research-based Firearms Safety Course designed to educate, inform, and empower. This 3-hour workshop is built on the belief that zero suicide is possible through informed conversations, responsible ownership, and access to prevention tools and education.

Course topics include:

Safe handling and operation of firearms
Basic marksmanship and principles of operation
Ammunition and malfunctions
Firearms storage and time-based prevention
Suicide prevention strategies specific to firearm access
Personal and family safety planning
This class is not a prerequisite for a NYS Pistol Permit, but it is strongly recommended for current or prospective firearms owners, especially veterans, military members, and their families.

Eligibility & Requirements:

Open to veterans, service members, and their families
Participants must be at least 13 years old and accompanied by a parent or guardian if under 18
