Culinary Program

The Culinary program works with Veterans on every aspect of food growing, preparing and serving. It is empowering to know how to cook for yourself and others, and is a critical element of well-rounded self-care. The Culinary Program offers Veterans opportunities to learn farming, knife skills, basic recipes, and other things that prepare them for a well-fed life at home or a job in the culinary world. The program offers various workshops and specialty classes regularly. Veterans experience the benefits of preparing and sharing nutritious meals for others at numerous events hosted throughout the year that are open to the public.

Hands on Culinary Classes

Clear Path for Veterans Culinary program is now offering recreational cooking Classes. We have teamed up with Wegmans Grocery store as a sponsor to offer these classes free of charge to Veterans and their family Member’s. There are a total of 10 classes offered, starting on March 14th, 2016 until the end of the Year December 12th 2016. Space is limited to 8 participants for each class which runs for 3 hours from 5pm until 8pm with dinner provided.  Each class is offering a new and exciting topic in culinary methods to experience a full range of cooking skills.  Please call to reserve a space for the course as seating is limited and on a first come first serve basis.

Culinary In Action!

Wednesday Canteen

Our Wednesday canteens are modeled after the North Platte, Nebraska canteen. This canteen ended up feeding and providing a place of comfort to all the men headed across country to fight in WWII.

Each week, Culinary team volunteers are lead by Marine combat Veteran Chef Adam Coleman in preparing a free lunch open to all active duty and Veteran men, women and their families. This nutritious lunch is served in a welcoming environment to men and women of all service eras. Join us and find your community here at Clear Path for Veterans.

Canteen is an opportunity for us to engage the local community. We love to work with farmers to establish mutually beneficial relationships. Supporting our local farmers is crucial to a healthy community. We are always open to new partnerships. Contact Chef Adam Coleman if you are interested in partnering with our Culinary team.

Memorial Canteen

While every Canteen is a way for us to honor service men and women of all eras, we like to offer the opportunity to host Memorial Canteens. We will prepare his or her favorite meal, feature pictures and a pamphlet telling their life story, and dedicate words to their memory. This is a way to honor a fallen friend or family member within the local military community. Email Adam Coleman to learn more about Memorial Canteens.

Mobile Canteen

Canteen lunch at Clear Path’s facility in Chittenango has become a highly celebrated weekly event. We are pleased to announce that we are partnering with local Veteran's organizations throughout Central New York so that we can bring Canteen to you! Veterans of all eras are welcome to gather with their families and enjoy a free meal, support and camaraderie. Enjoying a home cooked meal in the company fellow service men and women is an experience that should be had by all. Email Adam Coleman if you are interested in hosting a Mobile Canteen Event.


Join us for a relaxing family-style farm to table brunch buffet offered at Clear Path for Veterans facility on Salt Springs Road. Call ahead if you know when you would like to dine and we will be sure that table space is available for your party. Walk ins are welcome as well. Food is served from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Cost is $20 per person and children four and under eat free. All proceeds will go towards supporting our culinary program. See the calendar for dates!
