Keller Williams to hold annual RED Day at Clear Path

More than 100 employees and community volunteers are expected at Clear Path for Veterans on May 11 for Keller Williams (KW) Realty’s annual day of service: RED Day.

Introduced in 2009, RED Day – which is an acronym for Renew, Energize and Donate – is held on the second Thursday of May. It represents a day for KW’s associates to celebrate Vice Chairman Mo Anderson’s birthday by spending the day serving worthy organizations and causes in their communities.

This year’s RED Day participants will help Clear Path gear up for its annual Mega Murph, an outdoor competition where athletes participate in the hero WOD Murph: a 1-mile run, 100 pullups, 200 pushups, 300 squats and another 1-mile run. More information about this event that brings together athletes and the community to honor the memory of U.S. Navy SEAL Lt. Michael Murphy can be found by clicking here.

“RED Day is just another example of our commitment to each other and to the cities and towns where we live and work,” said Realtor/Marketing Consultant Bruce McDaniels, SRS.

Breakfast and lunch will be served and RED Day runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Projects to be undertaken will include: grooming the running trails, building wooden benches, painting an arbor, rehabilitation of the horseshoe pits and general maintenance of the Clear Path for Veterans Golf Course. The golf course is a new operations addition, with proceeds from the golf course going toward the programs and services at Clear Path to more than 18,000 Veterans and their families. (The golf course was formerly operated by The Ridge Restaurant, which remains a for-profit entity and its special events are wholly independent from Clear Path.)

In the event of inclement weather, indoor projects are also planned to include working in the kitchen and general cleaning.

“The Mega Murph is a unique day for us to recognize all Veterans who serve our country,” said Clear Path Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Melissa Spicer. “Our volunteers are a part of a dedicated team here at Clear Path who serve Veterans and their families on their journey home. This generous gift of time and talent on RED Day to help prepare for the Mega Murph is one more example of how our community embraces the work we do every day to support that journey.”
