Clear Path for Veterans Announces COVID-19 Community Task Force Buddy Check Program

Clear Path for Veterans is proud to announce the launch of the Buddy Check program. Effective immediately, the Buddy Check program is an additional service being implemented by the Clear Path for Veterans COVID-19 Community Task Force. The program is designed to combat isolation and promote mental and emotional wellness during this time of social distancing. 
 
The Buddy Check program is a way for Veterans, military members, and their families to stay connected and engaged with Clear Path and its programs and services. If a Veteran, military member, or family member would like to talk to a member of our buddy check team, they will be able to do so with a staff member by phone. An individual can call the Clear Path main phone number or email the buddy check email and request to chat with a member of the Clear Path team. After the request is received, a member of the Buddy Check team will reach out within two hours.
 
The buddy check team will consist of Clear Path staff members and its purpose is to help lessen the feeling of isolation and loneliness that many are currently experiencing. Members of the buddy check team are not mental health professionals and cannot provide mental health services. If mental health needs are identified, mental health triage will be provided by a licensed behavioral health specialist, on a case by case basis, in order to refer the caller to appropriate resources.
 
The Buddy Check program is the newest addition to a series of programs and services already being offered by Clear Path for Veterans in response to COVID-19 including, emergency food assistance, career services support, virtual social engagement programming, and mental health triage services.

Veterans, military members, and their families call Clear Path at 315-687-3300 or email cpvbuddycheck@clearpathforvets.com and request to speak with a member of the Buddy Check team.  
 
A Buddy Check team member who is available to return the call, within a two-hour window, will reply to the request. Requests made outside of normal operating hours will be answered in the order they are received the following business day during Clear Path's operating hours.
