Clear Path Announces New Chef

Clear Path for Veterans is excited to welcome Chef Michael Sheets to the headquarters staff in Chittenango, NY.  Chef Michael will be overseeing culinary functions to include weekly canteen luncheons, event catering, and the Clear Path food trailer.

Sheets is a central New York native, born and raised in Auburn.  A dishwashing job at the age of 19 quickly sparked his interest in fine cuisine as he watched his soon-to-be mentor construct inspiring dishes in the kitchen.  His intrigue brought him to Scottsdale, Arizona where he attended the Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School. Over the last 12 years, which included time spent in Knoxville, TN, his love of cooking and creating unique dishes has flourished.

Michael comes from both a culinary and military family as his father served in the United States Marine Corps as a cook. Working at Clear Path for Veterans allows Sheets to honor the memory of his father and give back to Veterans like him. “I put great passion into my cooking and creating dishes for people to enjoy,” said Sheets, “I can’t wait to share those culinary creations with the Veterans that walk through Clear Path’s doors”.

When Sheets isn’t in the kitchen, he enjoys spending time with his 3, soon to be 4, children, his fiancé, Amber, and his chocolate lab, Oakley. They enjoy family game nights, taking Oakley for walks, as well as hunting and fishing.
