NAMI Homefront teaches families how to learn to care for themselves - including managing stress - to support their family members with compassion; identify and access federal, state, and local services; stay informed on the latest research and information on mental health, including post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, anxiety, depression, and substance abuse. Together the class will learn about the current treatments and evidence-based therapies; how to navigate the challenges and impact of mental health conditions on the entire family, manage a crisis, solve problems, and communicate effectively. Most of all, this eight-week class teaches hope in the recovery journey and you'll experience compassion and reinforcement from people who relate to your experiences.

This is an eight-week course taking place weekly on Wednesdays at Clear Path for Veterans from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Complimentary child care will be provided. Veterans are welcome to attend and participate in their own separate peer groups. A complimentary dinner will be provided for all!

To attend the NAMI Family to Family workshop series please contact VA Recovery Coordinator Ann Canastra at 315-425-4400 ext. 52717 or email ann.canastra@va.gov
